Arithmancy Homework

Ahhh, little Teddy Lupin. This is an amazing character, because although he plays such a small role in the book, he delivers an emotional bodyslam to the readers. First, when we learn of his impending birth and Harry (rightly) tells Remus his proper place, we are filled with joy at his conception and anger that Remus would be so confused as to abandon him for the chase. Then, when we learn of his birth, amidst all the other tragedies, he brings hope to those around him when there is little in this new world controlled by Voldemort. Finally, at the loss of his parents while so young. You see him potentially at a path similar to Harry's life, and the tragedy that another would have to suffer so. And finally, utter joy, when we see that he's really a normal kid, just out to snog his girl in a dark corner, knowing that his life has turned out to be quite ordinary (as ordinary as a teenage wizard who can change their hair color at whim can be, anyways), and that this isn't bad.
